OUR FAMILY
We are a family of Trinidadians and Americans that believe deeply in the power of community engagement and public service. These are values that stem from generations of involvement with the church, public agencies and various levels of communal efforts.
Co-Founder and Executive Director
Darren J. Glenn is a Trinidadian-born, American intersectional environmentalist, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ rights advocate, and librarian based in the New York City area. Born in his parents' hometown of San Juan, Trinidad in 1988, Darren immigrated to the United States in 1993, and grew up in Queens, NY, and then Long Island. While pursuing higher education, he developed a passion for social justice. He received a Master’s Degree in Library Science at Syracuse University, and was able to live in Germany and Mexico developing his language and transnational resource mobilization skills. Through his travels, he developed a passion for the development of the Caribbean and, simultaneously, became activated around environmental issues. Darren currently works as a public librarian in the Greater New York area where he brings his public service and social justice sensibilities to underserved communities in Brooklyn as well.
Co-Founder and Associate Director
Bryan J. Glenn was the first member of the Glenn Family to be born in the United States. He was born in Queens, NY, and, after a few years living on Long Island, Bryan grew up in Central Florida in a Trinidadian-American household, where he developed an understanding of the opportunities that he had access to as a result of his parents' immigration. A musician and a music educator, Bryan has an interest in the impact that art and culture can have on the social and emotional development of individuals and the health of a society. Bryan is currently based in the Greater New York Area where, in 2021, he co-founded Delgado & Glenn, a real estate private equity firm driven by a commitment to just community development and environmental stewardship.
